Abstract:
The NYS Department of Transportation is implementing Trns.port SiteManager, including both Construction and Materials functionality. Implementation of standard AASHTO software enables SiteManager to allow revising business practices to be more consistent with industry-accepted best practices. The revisions to the Standard Specifications are to conform to SiteManager's methodology in defining its Material Codes and Pay Items. The Department currently has one Standard Specification section (Section 554) and several special specifications that contain provisions for systems that are essentially the same; that is, a retaining wall system consisting of reinforced fill with a facing. This issuance will combine like elements of the Standard and special specifications, and will establish an Approved List system for tracking acceptable systems.
