This EI transmits new Standard Specification Section 205 to address the special procedures,handling,safety precautions, testing and disposal rerquirements and costs incurred by the Cnotractor due to the presence of contaminated soils within a project. Section 205 will provide pay items and work provisions that are available and can be selected and combined as appropriate for typical project work encountering contaminated soil. The new section will largely replace more than 50 special specifications that have been used for these activities in the past.
