This EI states that roundabouts are the departments preferred alternative, by default, for situations where the centerline of an off-ramp terminal is within 150’ of the centerline of an on-ramp terminal on the same side of a roadway. This is to reduce the potential for drivers entering a freeway while going in the wrong direction.
