Abstract:
A MASH tested (at TL3 level) generic 4-cable mid-tension guide rail system was released complete with MASH tested approach and departure end terminals. The cables are under a tension of 1370 pounds for temperatures between 70 and 79 degrees, less than the high-tension cable systems. The end terminals don’t use spring compensators. This cable system should not be used on roads with horizontal curvature less than 440 feet.
