Abstract:: To announce the availability of Revision No. 68 to the Highway Design Manual (HDM), Chapter 28- Landscape Architecture and Community Design for Transportation. This chapter provides guidance on how to determine which visual, physical and cultural resources in a community will influence a transportation project or the Department’s operations, and how to address design considerations to integrate them. This issuance transmits sections 28.1, 28.2, 28.5, 28.6, 28.7, 28.8, 28.9, 28.10 and 28.13-28.17. These sections provide guidance in the use of the recently issued landscape development specifications Sections 610, 611, 614, 615 and 713 (EI 12-001) along with additional guidance for designers and landscape architects.
