Abstract:
This EI modifies & updates existing standard specifications §704-02, §704-04, §704-07, §704-10, §704-12, §704-13, §704-23 reflecting current technology and industry standards as well as conformance to newly issued Materials Procedure (MP) 09-03 CONCRETE MASONRY UNIT QC/QA PROCEDURES. The revised specifications remove unnecessary restrictions and guidance while substantially improving the quality & performance of the end products without additional cost to the Department. The revised specifications in combination with the newly issued MP 09-03, will result in substantial savings to the Department in inspectors fees, as they switch the Approval Process from Lot Acceptance to a QC/QA based program. This combination also creates a very low cost/benefit operating platform and therefore it is benefiting consumers and NYS taxpayers.
